Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing Report May 2009

The big bass are back for a while…… the bluegill and shell crackers are spawning right now on the big bass big on Okeechobee is awesome right now. Look for the bluegill beds on the edge of the marsh and the fish it with swim bait or a 7” senko and hang on. Many of the bass you will see before you catch them, you need to have a quite trolling motor and sneak around and sight fishes them.

If you have a power pole on your boat, this is a perfect time to use them. You will want to power-pole down in an up wind position and make long cast to the light spots (beds).
