The fishing has been very consistent with a lot of schooling activity in the main lake and there was a pretty good spawn as well. I fished the annual "Toys For Tots" Bass Tournament held in Clewiston and I caught 25.51 with five bass to take second place, first place weight was 26.01 and they had a 11.15 for big bass. WOW!!!! June bug worms and shallow running crankbaits like the Spro Little John is producing very well and the shiner bite has been good too. The month of December is one of the best months for lure fishing and this year is very good because the lake level are lower than normal and the fish are concentrated more.
So plan your trip to the Big ‘O’ as soon as you can. And please feel free to call or e-mail any time if you have any questions about fishing on Lake Okeechobee.
