The Bass fishing here on lake Okeechobee is getting better every day. Our Lake Okeechobee fishing guides have been catching around 40-70 bass a day on shiners with the common 8 to 9lbs large mouth bass. Our fishing guides are also catching tons of bass on artificial lures, but the size of the bass on lures are more in the 1.5 to 3.5 pound range...While the bass biting on the shiners are still in that range we are getting a few BIG bites every day ( 7-9 lbs ) .
Lake Okeechobee is getting close to it's normal water level now and the bass fishing should do nothing but get better every day as the lake Okeechobee continues to come down.
The Big Lake Okeechobee bass will start to move in to spawn for the year by the December full moon. This year the south end of the lake Okeechobee will probably be the hot end this year as we seem to have more good cover than other places on the lake. Most of the other Lake Okeechobee fishing guides are spending a lot of time on the south end.
Spinner baits and top water lures have been producing all day long in the bay bottom area and the flipping bite is starting to turn on in the hydrilla patches. If all this fails you can always catch bass on the old lake Okeechobee stand-by....8 inch ribbon tail worm (June-Bug color) with 3/16 weight
The crappie fishing is real good right now! East Wall and Coot Bay
