Here you can read the latest bass fishing reports from Scott Martin, Professional Tournament Angler, and Professional Bass Guide on Lake Okeechobee.

Nov. 12th 2002

The fishing over the past two weeks has been pretty good. We have caught many in the 5-7 lbs range, but the real big ones have not moved up good yet. The one great thing is that the water temperature has finally got in the 70's over the last few days. Now, all the fish will start to make there move to the spawning flats and also start feeding heavily. The bass will start feeding on shad very hard with the temperatures in the 70's. Try these lures....
Lures to throw:
1. spinner bait with a single gold willow leaf blade
2. soft jerk bait in a shad color
3. hard jerk bait (rattling rogue)
4. Super spook or Matzuo "Spit n sputter"
5. 6" lizard on 1/8 oz - 1/4 oz weight
6. lipless crank bait (Matzuo rumble shad)
So plan your trip to the Big ‘O’ as soon as you can. And please feel free to call or e-mail any time if you have any questions about fishing on Lake Okeechobee.
Bass Wishes,
Scott R. Martin
